October. She lets the leaves drift loose from her scalp, surrounding herself with gold. Inside her mind, a perfect silence grows where rustling thoughts had clung. She gathers the glowing world in its thirsty well.
Okay, okay -- I know -- enough already with the Renwal dolls. I can't help myself. I carried her in my pocket late yesterday afternoon while walking with a neighbor on our road. The photo opportunity suddenly materialized at the top of the hill, gold everywhere. Click on image to enlarge.

Gold gold gold indeed . . . and those bursts of red and orange. At Storm King there was a stretch of trees, all red. Hemlock. And did I ever tell you about my visit to the 'House of the Hermit Poets' in Japan? I think it's post-Basho's time, but the premise is the same.
Love the line - Inside her mind, a perfect silence grows where rustling thoughts had clung.
I love these fall colors. I drove around the reservoir late yesterday, and the light coming through the leaves was intense, yet dreamlike and flickering, mirrored in the water. What a great name, "House of the Hermit Poets." Do tell.
Thanks, Spot! That's the feeling, isn't it?
Guess I'm missing something over here about the dolls? Who are they?!! Are they palm size? Barbie size?
We've had a gorgeous (mostly) dry week, with leaves falling like rain and I just love it every time.
Hi again, Spot! Renwal dolls are merely old doll house dolls, but to me they seem to possess real character and life. I like to set up scenes using them. They're pretty small, about four inches high, but they have large personalities.
